Finding Generic Theater
We’re Located in the Basement of Chrysler Hall
Scope Garage Parking
Drive into the Scope Parking Garage (St Pauls Blvd & E Bute St), stay to the right and drive down the ramp to the bottom level (U), and follow the Generic Theater signs around the perimeter (past the exit ramp) until you reach the underground theater entrance inside the garage. Scope Garage is a paid parking facility operated by the city of Norfolk.
Chrysler Corner Stairwells
Starting from the fountain plaza on the west side of the building, approach the Chrysler Hall Box Office and enter via one of the red corner doors flanking the ticketing windows (see arrows in picture), walk down the stairs to the bottom level, and follow the Generic Theater signs through the garage to the underground theater entrance.
Pro Tips
Parking
Scope Garage offers direct access to the theater. When it’s full, try the Charlotte Street Garage, Bank Street Garage, or MacArthur Center. These are paid parking garages; sometimes you can find free street parking nearby.
Box Office
Purchasing tickets online is highly recommended. Otherwise, our on-site box office opens 1 hour before performances. You cannot buy show tickets at the Chrysler Hall box office.
Accessibility
Arriving via the Scope Parking Garage (St Pauls Blvd & E Bute St) is easiest for accessibility. Alternatively, please go to the Chrysler Hall entrance and ask Security (757–374–3541) to direct you to an elevator.
Black Box Experience
Performances are held in a small black-box theater called Little Hall. Chairs are positioned near the stage so you get a great view of the performance. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime.
